The Food & Drink Thread

Well I was holding off from a rant.
All of my kitchen appliances blew out back in September due to a power surge and after 2 months the insurance decided to cough up some cash the first of November so I can get new ones. I ordered a dishwasher, range and microwave on November 6th and Home Depot promised me that they would deliver on the 23rd. I asked them if they were sure because that is the day before Thanksgiving they stated it would be no problem.. Well...they reniged on their promise and did not deliver so we had to gather up the turkey and everything else and go to Brenda's mom's house to cook. It did work out o.k. (her mom is 87 and she did cook the bird upside down) but it still tasted good! I still do not have any new appliances yet as of 11/28.
I'm sorry you had this experience. I would be upset as well if a company was dishonest with me. If they were not able to deliver your apliances on time, they should have never promised you. They should have told you that they can try to have it delivered by the specific date but cannot promise or garentee the appliance will be delivered on the date specified.

Love the idea of a dedicated thread for food and drink discussions! Food brings people together in the best way.Speaking of food, have you ever tried making Korean corn dogs? I recently stumbled upon a recipe and gave it a shot. It was a bit of an adventure in the kitchen, but let me tell you, the crispy batter and gooey cheese inside were absolutely worth it! If you're looking for something fun to try, I highly recommend giving it a go.

I wanted some ribs the other day so I fired up the smoker. Since two racks wasn't going to fill it up I hit the freezer to see what I could find. My search resulted in a pack of cheddar brats, a pack of regular brats (that I cut open and stuffed with pepper jack), and I had a pack of Conecuh smoked sausage in the fridge. I have attached the fruits of my labors. The pieces of meat in amongst the brats were scraps from the spare ribs that I cooked for my dogs.

I was on the road all week last week doing mid-year inventories with some of my technicians. Since I had to go to Columbus, OH I knew I was going to hit up Hoggy's BBQ. Not only is their food flat out incredible, it is located across the street from a MicroCenter. This time I opted to go with some ribs and smoked turkey; I was not disappointed. On a previous visit I had one of their brisket phillies, "Black Angus Brisket, Pickled Red Onions, Pickled and Candied Jalepenos, and Pimento Cheese on a garlic butter grilled Martins Potato Roll".
