Anyone hear of any games that will top crysis in graphics?

what about games where you can barely jump like 1 foot off the ground ( aka. Farcry 2 ) :p

still good enough. aslong as you CAN JUMP. its what made crack down so fun, oh and being able to kick your friend like 20 feet in coop or them trying to run you over and you fliping there car :D
 
i didnt notice much of an improvement over crysis and warhead they both run craply and look amazing. tho the crappy running part is due to my craptastic cpu
 
once everything from glass to sky is fully 3d modeled, then we will talk what is ahead of time of video games out now lol.

well where half way there then because the sky in cryssi is 3d modeld :p it doesnt use sky boxes. it has 3d renderd clouds and what not, it is probably one of the sources for crysis being so demanding, imo its uterly useless, many sky boxes from other games look a litle better but nothing i can do about it.
 
Another thing about crysis is it renders physics on the cpu.

If the game was made with physx support it would run so much smoother. But the engine doesnt allow that...although im sure they could work it in there somehow.

you can tell the gpu's try to take the load, to its a litle funny with physX drivers instaled you get a 2/4 fps bump.

Crysis isn't very cpu dependent so using it to run physics isn't the source of the games performance problems.

Physics offloaded onto the cpu versus a gpu....yes.

Have you ran a physx based game yet??? Offloading the physics onto a gpu makes games much much smoother.

Doesnt matter whether the game as a whole is cpu dependent. The engine loads physics onto cpu's which are slow at rendering physics...no matter how fast of a cpu it is.

best example of this is the ut3 engine.
