EDIT: nvm, i just read the second page, realized that fireworks use .fla as well (confusing.. you would expect them to at least change the extension of their different products :|)

no because as we said, that way you can import your fireworks project into flash and then make crazy flash animations if you wanted.

just a question, is Flash better for making sigs than photoshop? as you said you used flash for it.. nice sig again..

Photoshop is better than Fireworks. It's a long story why I use Fireworks though.
