I would like some input as to what you (collectively) would like to see here at TF. We are working on some things already, such as a new skin (very, very close... as in at any time close), a new review section (and hopefully some member reviews along the line...), and we are currently looking over how to best open up blogs here.

So, tell me (and the rest of the staff) what you would like to see around here. what would bring new life and vitality to TF? What would have you logging on as soon as possible?

Use your imagination. Even crazy ideas can spark a different idea in someone else.

*** The only stipulations are that the ideas must fit within the current rules of Tech-Forums and a mobile version is off the table (not that we don't want one... vB4 basically screwed any mobile version over as it is less mobile friendly than vB3 was). ***

Maybe a Tech-Forums show? like on youtube or vimeo or something like they do over on twit.tv?

Game Servers, Shoutcasting, streaming, news.

(not yalls fault) Less n00bs that come to simply post "can my pc play this" or "HELP ME WITH MY BUILD!!!".

Even though i despise TPU, they really do have alot of knowledgeable members and i give them credit for that. Id like to see that here besides alot of flame bating.

I know all this takes time though.

I agree with both said subjects.

I would love more options for senior members. Like more advancements and acknowledgments, for helpful posts, personal reviews.
Maybe a member of the month? or quarter depending on how easy a repeat would be. It'd be kind of cool to have a member badge float around with "member of the month". Sets a positive image about our community.

I know I haven't been here long but I like to think I've been involved having almost 1000 posts in a year. I just wish I could contribute more. I have a few posts coming up that I hope can be informative or entertaining.

I look forward to member reviews and blogs.

Folding tourneys would be cool. Have members ranked into hardware classes and see who can score the best that week.

How about more hardcore porno?

Butg a webpasge, not just a forum thread/sticky of downloads.

Kinda like Exteme Overclock has, where you can get gpu-z or hardware monitor, etc so that people don't have to go searchen for it.

It'll also expand the site beyond just a forum.

Could also add a wedpage section for the reviews too.

Again just things to evolve the site eyond just a forum.

We need those members, they are the ones allowing us to acquire product review samples. Don't mess with my perks :D

How true, how true. Plus, most of us were one of those n00bs once upon a time. ;)

I would like to see more community involvement. A part of this will (hopefully) be more contests/giveaways. I added giveaways as not every single event needs to be who can do something best. Let's be honest... some of us are not superstars in anything and would have a proverbial snowballs chance of winning. By having drawings as some of the events will give everyone an opportunity to get in on the winning.

That's not to say that we won't have any competitions, as I do want to see some of those as well. A Folding tourney is a great idea, BTW. Some graphics contests are other options. Give me some more ideas for competitions, as well as what others would like to see.

cleanest case, cleanest desk, coding, graphics as you said, animation, youtube content. Just some thoughts for competitions.

Well since my first suggestion is off the table I'll have to come up with something else :)

I think the blogs and reviews by members would be a nine addition. I've seen other sites do distributed computing marathons that run for a month or so and they seen to be pretty successful. I think the key with those is running them for the right amount of time, you want it to be long enough that a good amount of work gets done but short enough that people are willing to use extra systems that they normally wouldn't use for DC.
