Currently I have a Ryzen 5 1400 on an ASROCK AB350 PRO4 motherboard and I'm thinking of upgrading to the Ryzen 7 5700G. I've heard this is possible with a few bios updates but I have some concerns first of which the instructions say to upgrade to the 7.0 bridge bios and then to 7.40 and then install the new CPU. However I am not certain if this is possible because upgrading to 7.0 will break compatibility with my current cpu making it impossible to install the next update to give compatibility to the 5700G.
I'm basing my assumptions on the bios section of the AB350 PRO 4 website

I've also seen some troubling posts on the asrock forums about these updates breaking things like ram slots and other issues and saying to stick to the original support list

I've been doing a lot of work with virtual machines over the past few years and having more cores and more powerful cores would really help out a lot. IF this isn't going to work out I'll probably upgrade to AM5 next year some time.
