No Firefox is not so bad. It is just an ongoing problem that has never been resolved. I read of the memory leak back with version 1.7 and it has been there ever since. They said they got it resolved for version 2 but that wasnt true when it was shown yet again.
Firefox is a great browser. It just has its quirks on some setups just like anything else. I am using Win7 64 Bit as well and i get the resource usage. Others report no problem. It is jsut one of those ghosts in the machine that can never seem to be found or explained.
