Windows 10 audio issue

Apparently Microsoft still has not fixed this issue as I still have the same problem of every other time the PC restarts whatever the clock and other things gets the timing signal from runs faster.

I know it's a Windows problem not hardware as it didn't happen until a Windows update.

Basically Microsoft broke it and I expect them to fix it.

Microsoft still hasn't fixed the problem.

When I have the problem the stopwatch app counts the seconds about twice as fast.

When I restart I get this during boot.

dmi pool data update success

So given Windows cannot change DMI pool data directly, I am not sure what is being done by Windows to cause the problem every other boot/reboot.

It cannot be the PC as the second identical PC does the exact same thing and it didn't start until after a Windows update.

Surely some guru knows exactly what hardware on the motherboard controls whatever the clock and stopwatch get their timing signals from.

Be my luck that just as a fix is found, the end of support for Windows 10 will be here.

Very Interesting!

Have you tried doing a full reformat after flashing the BIOS firmware on motherboard?
Could you please explain how updating the BIOS is related to reformatting the hard drive. I've never heard of that.

What stopwatch app are you talking about?

It's more of a shot in the dark/ big swing at a high fast ball kinda idea. I really have no idea. But in the past of reading a lot of forums and building 10+ custom setups myself/home theatre stuff I have read and seen similar odd problems fixed by those steps. Why? No clue's.

I just type clock in the search bar on the taskbar and it brings up a clock app where on the left you can select stopwatch.
OK, I understand now, but there are no problems with it and never have been. And to be even more precise, there can't be, because it duplicates the Windows clock.
What computer do you have and when was a clean and original Windows installed on it? And do You have all correct and up to date drivers and controllers installed.
And remember, I don't speak about somehow modified Windows and also not about any virtual or other installed Windows. There may everything be and happen.

The Windows clock goes fast as well on every other boot.

Happened after a Windows update, but it's been so long that I don't know which one it was.

Whatever it is must be hardware related as otherwise I would not get the DMI POOL UPDATE SUCCESS message.

That said I do not understand why it only happens every other boot/reboot as if Windows is changing hardware wouldn't I get that message every boot?
