It is overclocked because the clock speed is 147Mhz. Stock clock speed is 133Mhz. So Alienware have raised the clock speed to achieve an overclock.
But because they have also enabled the Speedstep facilities in the BIOS also your system will down clock when idling to save power.
So when you use your system hard it will run at 3.100Ghz and when idling it will run at well below stock speeds (2.660Ghz).

For sure, here it is!
Im still a bit frustrated though. I just want to have a simple reading of how hot my CPU is, i dont want to get into all the cores and such lol.

That cooler you have is pretty good. You just have to ensure that enough cool air enters the case, and you leave room at the back for exhaust, for it to be effective.
And if you have quad cores your gonna get quad temp' readings too.
Just make sure that the cores don't stay above 80'C-85'C too long and you'll be fine.
