Recording what you hear - Windows 7

I'm trying to be able to record audio that is played on my PC and have it record in Audacity. I recently upgraded to Windows 7 and now I can't get it to work

But I don't get the "Stereo Mix" option

I had Realtek HD something or rather but now Windows 7 has installed the audio drivers and my old options aren't available. I don't see anything on Gateways website that would work for a driver install either.

You need the proper drivers. Use Everest, SiSandra Software or Belarc advisor to see the make and model of the device and get proper drivers.
