i have 2 printers, the first and oldest is an HP D5069, and the second is a Canon MP 250. i used to be able to refill the ink cartridges on these (black), but now they will not work. even though they are filled to the brim, they will not print. is there a way to reset the ink levels so they will work?

No, when you refill an ink cartridge it starts at a 70% chance of working. Each time you refill it, that number gets higher. Have you tried cleaning the print head? Or do you know for sure its because the are filled so high?

Honestly I would recommend going and buying a new set. Try cartridge world or looking online if they are too old to find in stores.
