This wasn't a great Father's Day. I had to work, my wife left out this morning headed to help her cousin run a fireworks stand/tent (she will be back Friday for a day or so), I didn't go to bed until 4:30 a.m. and was awake at 9.
This is also my first Father's Day since my dad passed away. While I realize some here come from broken homes and have no use for their fathers, I didn't. My dad was a worker and put in mega hours so I didn't see him a lot growing up. We had grown a lot closer over the past two years since I bought my uncle's place here on the old Trotter homestead and was living a couple of houses away. To say it has been hard would be an understatement.
