Edit a converted file that uses PHP

I recently made an apache webserver and have connected to it using localhost. I'm using a bunch of PHP scripts to be able to read some files. However, in my web browser I can read them, but I can't edit them. I also can't save them. How do I make it so I can edit some of the values of these files on my brower?

can you tell us if your running windows or Linux fro the server?

Sounds like a permissions issue.
