Hi all I am trying to do a windows xp repair but when I reboot with the xp cd in the drive it asks me for a password before I can repair I have no idea what this password could be (i tried the one i use to log into windows) im just wondering is there anyway i can find out what the password is thanks

If you're trying to do a repair install, don't use teh Recovery Console.

it is for my pc I tried to just do a full reinstall of windows but when it was done doing the format of the hard drive my computer locked up and now that is all it does it wont stay running long enough to reinstall windows any ideas what i can do?

Sounds like a dead hard drive. Could be temps as well.

Open the PC and clean out all the dust from the fans and heat sinks.
