Minecraft Modding: Throwing Star

I've been creating a weapons mod as part of a technic zombie survival pack i've been working on, I would like to add in a throwing star to the game. I've added the actual item to the game, but I need help with the throwing part. How exactly would I go about doing this? Thanks!
