The General said:Why would they? There's a shortage of Blu-Ray diodes, lack of porn, and they are more expensive (HD-DVD's are ~$20, BD's are ~$30). The video quality is 100% exactly the same, the only thing that will change is that Sony wants to have complete and total control over the world and everyone and what they do, so they will lose. Just watch, it happened with Beta-Max, it will happen with this.
The only thing I could see happening other than Sony losing the war would be that the majority of movies and players end up being cross compatible, that other something comes along with no DRM that blows them both out of the market.
Well first off sooner or later PS3's are going to be as common as a PS2.
Also the Blu-Ray is going to pack more of a "value punch" for people with home theater sound systems........ The content is going to come with a wide array of audio selections to come along with their movies
Blu-ray can store around 9 hours of HD content vs. HD-DVD which can only store around 5.4 (if both formats are dual layer)
Overall. Blu-Ray is better.
So IMO it is going to win.
