sound problem

Hi guys, i'm new here as you can tell, i've introduced myself in the newbee section lol.
I've got a small problem that hopefully someone would be able to solve for me!!!!
What it is, i've reinstalled windows xp last week as a fresh installation, i do this every few months to keep my system squeaky clean lol, anyway, sound files that are on my local computer all play fine (i.e mp3's and wavs etc), however, any sound that is internet bases (streaming radio or flash applications) will not play, i've checked my internet settings, updated explorer to latest upgrade, even tried opera browser but nothing seems to solve this problem. Has anybody else ever had this problem, or does anybody know how to solve it?

have you tried the windows update, I do recall an Internet sound patch in there,,

and by internet properties, you are referring to the properties of IE5/6 right?

yes, i do mean the ie6 properties. but i'll have to check out the update though!!

better update ....
or just try reinstalling media player or whichever streaming player you use.
