IF a reinstall of the porgams did nothing then there is no way we can tell you what the issue may be. That is our only answer we can provide. There would have to be something else wrong with the system for this to occur.
You would have to either try a Restore Point to a date before this started to happen, Repair install if it is XP, or a format and reinstall if it is Vista.
Other than that there isnt much else we can say. A removal of the program and reinstall is the only option we can give without knowing what else, if anything, is wrong with the system. This is not normal behavior and no way to diagnose it.
