I have simple advice, get an instructor. Since there are 2 phases of learning to drive.
PHASE 1) Learning to pass the test, most of your parents would fail their driving tests if they had one tomorrow - so would I most likely. Actually knowing how to drive and how to pass the test are two different and contradictory things.
PHASE 2) Actually learning to drive, Ie getting from A to B quickly and safely in a way that suits you. Rather than the ridiculous situation of checking your mirrors on a straight road moving at a constant speed every 10-15seconds for example.
