lost desktop

Hi, I,ve lost my desktop. I,ve got windows ME and when I start the computer the desktop appears for a few seconds then dissapears leaving a clear blue screen.
I WANT MY DESKTOP BACK
I can access it by pressing the windows button going to control panel press the dropdown and selecting desktop. The only thing with that (besides the hassle) is if I minimise anything it disapears. Help...............

uh.. besides your computer being a heroin addict, and reinstalling your OS, I'm not really sure how to fix that.. unless you can figure out how to mess w/ the registry and restore the shell
