Laggy and glitchy online wired play

I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to decrease the amount of lag and glitchiness when playing games online (such as madden, and ufc '09). I get a considerable delay in my game play and it has become frustrating to even play online. Thanks

I get the same thing. I don't think there is much you can do, as people with really slow speeds, think that since it's advertised as broadband, it's suitable for online play. My buddy was playing against me on a 3G connection using his cellphone as a modem. I got unbelievable lag, and was knocked out before I could do anything. (Playing UFC Undisputed.)
