Help kill WORMS!! McAfee and Norton won't work!!
I have a PIII866 Running XP. Office 2003
-A large email won't be downloaded from the server. (using outlook 2003
-Web surfing seems extremely slow (seems like there is a worm sending mass mail possibly)
- When I try to run any application, there is a considerable time delay before the program runs. This may be up to 1-2 minutes (with no other applications open or running)
-Can't download Norton updates or Mcafee updates. It just hangs.
I tried to download the SOBER worm fix from Norton's site and it wouldn't let me download it. I then downloaded it to a floppy on another computer and it wouldn't read it unless i ran XP in safe mode.
I ran the Sober fix and it found nothing.
I took the HD out of my PC and connected it to my windows 2003 server Enterprise edition, running Mcafee 8.0i with up to the minute updates. I scanned the newly installed HD 3 times and it found nothing. I've run spybot 1.04 and ad-aware 1.06 as well.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
