Its very simple People...

Multi core CPU: Text only console, SMP Beta version 5.91
Single Core CPU: Text only console, Version 5.04

i use the v5.04 consoles for computers with single core processors or the SMP beta for multicores. well i'm actually using 4 v5.04 consoles on my Linux install with my quad core because i'm not a big fan of 64 bit operating systems.

I set my CPU to 3.85ghz and so far it's folding stable Putting out 4500ppd according to FAHmon.....weeeee

Ok, I have the SMP Beta client and I cannot get it working even if I follow the instructions that come with it. When I run install.bat, it says

OpenSCManager failed:
Access is denied. <error 5>
Unable to remover the previous installation, install failed.
account <domain\user> [mycompnamehere\myusernamehere]:

when I hit enter and enter my password, I get this:

Password encrypted into the Registry.
Unable to connect to 'mycompname:8676',
sock error: generic socket failure, error stack:
MPIDU_Sock_post_connect<1228>: unable to connect to mycompname on port 8676, exhausted all endpoints <errno -1>
MPIDU_Sock_post_connect<1275>: unable to connect to mycompname on port 8676, No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. <errno 10061>

I have allowed that port through on my router and windows firewall.

EDIT: Ok, I just allowed that port through my anti-virus and now I get a new error. After I enter my password, I get this:

op_read error on left context: socket connection closed unable to read the challenge string, socket connection closed.

Very, very impressive.

I dont like the Console version, i like to be able to see how long it will be till my WU finishes, and my frames a minute and all that stuff. It's to confusing to use also.

Okay thanks... now tell me how i even run the SMP client... it's all...weird.

-install it
-go to smp folder
-run install.bat
-enter your Windows admin logon/username to give it permission
-run FAH
-enter details
-Place shortcut somewhere so you can start it up
