Gaming and Video Trouble

Hey, i was wondering if someone could help me out here. My computer works normally when i'm using applications such as word or excel, but when i try to play a game that uses java for example, or play any type of video it lags. Anybody know what could be wrong with my computer and how i could perhaps fix it? Note: i all rdy scanned my pc for anything unusual.

Is it a streaming video or an online game? It could be your internet connection not being able to stream it fast enough.

Yup maybe... might even be slow CPU, not enough RAM or bad video card?

If it is the internet, then once you have watched the video once and then replay it, it should be fine, but if it is not then it is most probably your computers resources / memory or CPU.

When you say "it lags" do you mean the whole image or parts of it?

If the whole thing slows down, your resolution is too high for your set-up. (You can look into WHY in a separate step.)

If the game appears to "smear" or smudge as you play, its because your LCD monitor can't refresh its pixels as fast as the game wants it to.
