Dealing with Harassment from FB pages?

Contacting people in real life to harrass is wrong and that should be reported to police, however the rest of FB etc is why people should not use the net to socialise or from the start of cyber bullying just delete the account...

It's the Internet, not real life, police have much better things to do than sort out issues which could be handled by just deleting your account or not posting your personal **** everywhere... Also read the T and Cs of the website.

what did your friend do to deserve this?
be honest. people don't go through all the trouble to create a facebook page for no reason
theres always 2 sides to the coin.
before judging anyone we should know what she did

You've never seen 4chan raids.

This. People do this just because they can and they get feedback. I watched several people's lives be ruined this very way. Mostly it was a girl that got nudes leaked and they plastered the photos all over the internet.

this seems to be coming from one person if I understand correctly.
I'm not saying hes right for bashing her on facebook but just because shes a female doesn't mean that she couldn't possibly do something dirty to deserve this.

its always good to know what happened prior. I don't like to side with someone because he or she acts as a victim. people can be pretty evil sometimes.

pretending to be a victim after you did something ****ed up to deserve is pretty low and I have no respect for that crap. I ve dealt with that sht before as well. and its even harder to prove that the "victim" is the one who started all the sht in the first place.

You need to contact the police, period. Stop posting here and seriously call the police.

Not going to debate with people saying the Internet is different - but it's not, it's the same thing just in our time not the 80's. People now harass with text, email, facebook, twitter, ect. Just because those technologies were not around when the definition of harassment wasn't around doesn't mean they don't fall under the same statutes.

Facebook, Internet, Twitter - yes they are all cyber but they are all very real and cause the same damage to individuals as harassment people my age grew up with.

Nobody argued against it being harassment, we argued that it's the internet and the police won't do anything. They classify it simply as bullying.

Ahh, see I think they will still do something about it. A woman went to jail for harassing a teenage girl on facebook - there was another story about a similar situation. I'm sure it has to hit a certain level before police would do anything but if something is asking for advice i'm sure it's gotten to a level where they are starting to feel threatened.

That's the deal, being a "regular" to 4chan I see this kind of crap all the time and nothing is done until it's too late. A couple of dudes didn't go to jail until a girl drank bleach to commit suicide, and in another case a teacher got fired, divorced from her husband, disowned from her family, and the dudes only got like a 5000 dollar fine. I kinda agree with raver in the fact that usually something is done for this type of bullying on the net from this certain group. This definitely sound like the work of 4chan or Reddit. In this regard nothing will be done if Facebook won't even take the account offline.
