Are these parts compatable?

Hello, I am planning on building a pc in the next few months or so and i have started browsing for parts. The reason I am asking for help is because I don't know all that much about the advanced aspects of computer hardware. Now i have a question are these parts compatible and if not are there ones similar that are and am I missing anything? Also are there cheaper parts that get the same task done? I plan on gaming, surfing the web, tons of downloading, and multitasking. Sorry if this thread isn't very organized as it is my first one.

It all looks fine to me and looks like on mean 'rig'!

As it looks like you are getting all the kit from the same website then if you really want confirmation it will all work together then send the site the same message you posted here and you'll have an official answer from the company you are buying from - that way if for some strange reason something ends up not being compatible then it's their fault and not yours so it makes returning/swapping items easier.

everything looks like it would be compatible, but you could do better.

i totaled up your whole build and it came out to about $946. the case you choose is really personal preference so excluding the case it total $866.

these would total $834.

i5 750 > than pii x4 965.

changed mobo to support the skt 1156 i5 750 which also has support for sata 6gb/s, usb 3.0 and crossfire which leaves you the option of adding a second gfx card for improved performance.

you really would not need 2133mhz ram, unless you plan on doing some real high end OCing. this much cheaper set of 1600mhz ram will be good.

hd 5770 > 9800gt.

you would not need a 750w psu. this xfx 650w will provide plenty of power and is also modular (which, incase you're unfamiliar with it, means you can detach the cables you don't need for better cable management which will help airflow inside the case)

not completely sure why you need a seperate cd drive and a dvd burner, the burner will work as both. you can add it again if you still want to have it though.

this build would be a good bit better and a little cheaper than the parts you listed.

I agree with Muffin Man. If it were me, I would definitely go with a Core i5, and I would trade a 9800GT with a HD 5770 any day of the week. One other thing, this is just my opinion, but I would go with a low cost Gigabyte board over the ASUS. I would go with this one.

One last warning (this is a problem with every P55, H55, or H57 chipset motherboard, and the only reason I would recommend AMD over Intel). The PCI-E controller is embedded in the processor, and it only has 16 PCI-E lanes, if you plan on upgrading to a Crossfire or SLI setup, you will take a performance hit. That's about it.

that doesn't really need a "warning", it's not like it can be a fatal drawback or something. anyway it would not be a very noticeable performance hit though.

i would still stick to my original selection of the asus mobo though, it supports crossfire @ x8/x8 which would take a less noticeable performance hit compared to that gigabyte's x16/x4.

plus, w/ the included shipping cost it would only be $2 cheaper than the mobo i listed. i would stick to the asus mobo.

Can you please explain to me how an i5 would be better then the amd II x4 I just dont see how it would be. Also i plan on buying windows 7 and thank you so much for the help

it is well known that while the phenom iis are fast cpus, the i5 750 and i7s are faster still.

and as far as the build i suggested for you; i was suggesting different parts based on the money you would've spent on the parts you listed, and as you see you would actually save a little money while getting a better rig.
