Damn! Missed that. It's now listed as $327.44 for a used one. I actually got the monitor Saturday so I got it a few days earlier and paid a $20 premium.

Newer panel, 200Hz refresh, HDR if you care about that, but I just read they're coming Q4 (the X35 is the competition for that one). I'd imagine I shouldn't expect my 4k 144hz ROG until then either.

I bought this one refurb for $750 from Acer Recertified, hence why I bit the bullet and bought the thing

Ah, I can't do refurb on expensive things like these. Makes me always wonder why it was sent back and if they properly fixed it or not. When they do come out they'll replace the current models and price points I'm sure. For proper 4k 144hz 1ms HDR IPS I have no issues paying 1200 for a monitor that'll last me years.
