So the last few weeks I've been doing some research trying to learn as much as I can so I can build a new PC. I understand what parts are needed and its not all completely new to me but most of it is. So after throwing together a few different rigs on newegg hoping the parts would work together, I decided I'd get some help. I made the mistake about 2 years back and got myself a dell instead of trying to build my own. I'm currently rockin these specs...
Windows XP Media Center Edition
SP3
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE (512 MB)
2g RAM unknown brand
160g HD Seagate
PHILIPS DVD-ROM DROM6316
TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S203B
Stock power supply probably like 420w?
Unknown pretty much everything else. Dell brand? I dont know.
The only reason I know my optical drives is because I've already had to buy 2 new ones because the stock ones broke within a few months.
Okay so a few people have told me to try and strip a few parts or even try and upgrade the computer I have now but I have no clue what kind of upgrades dells can take and I might just want to sell it instead.
Alright so I'm looking to spend no more than $800. I only really ever play World of Warcraft and I heard the max settings aren't that tough to keep up with. So I'm looking for a quite computer that can easily play WoW at max settings, 50fps+. My monitor resolution is 1920 x 1080. I'm sure I probably left out a ton of vital information, just let me know! Thanks!
