does cisco router has an ip address address which you could access the configuration like a linksys router? linksys router has a default ip 192.168.1.1, what about cisco?

thanks.

?

HMM....as far as i know...i dont believe so. i worked mainly on the 2600 and 2800 series routers...there may be a utility, or some sharware program out there that may enable you to? thats possssibleee...but other than that. im pretty sure NO. cisco's conventional configuration method is typically by console or remote. sorry bud...ill take a look around anyways tho! : )

i withdraw my last statement!

hey, actually after a quick googling (GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND) i fo und this...

i think it will only work with cisco IOS versions 12.2 and higher...if so...give it a try. you first have to configure the http browser. but once its configured, it works similar to the http brower interface you were looking for similar to a linksys config page. :D

In order to get into a Cisco router, you will need a Cisco Rollover cable to connect to an available Serial port on your PC. The other end of the cable goes into the Cisco Router's CONSOLE port.

In order to reach the router via IP address, you will have to do so through an interface OTHER than the CONSOLE port. You will also have to configure the router to connect via telnet.

(in config mode, use the following command):
line vty 0-4
login
password password

(the 2nd password is the actuall password... the first one must be 'password' as shown... to make the password Cisco, it would be:
password Cisco
