I just would like to know what a good example would be for the "ln" command. Im thinking to link a file from one user (the owner) to other user(s). You can use ln to give a file two name but i dont see the purpose. One name for a file should be good enough. Correct?

as you know, its there to create more pointers to files. sometimes you don't get to choose what file location to set and you can use ln to create that association when you need it. you can use it for shortcuts in the system. also, the most if not all base linux oses uses these because they don't know what devices are going to be installed. they coded the os to use generic device names and setup many kinds of devices to that association.
