Using 4pin power cable on 8 pin motherboard

I have a board on order that come as part of a bundle therefore I can't see if the processor power socket is 4 pin or 8 pin.

My PSU only has 1 4pin

My question is can I use the 4 pin on the 8 pin board and it still work?
