What a bad day! I have a brand new Maxtor 80GB HD (purchased 2 weeks ago) and today I get a blue screen message from Windows XP during boot up that there is something wrong with F: drive and it is going to verify. Comes back with a message saying..... 2, 3, 5, 7, 8 & 24 cannot be read (cant remember whether it referred to sectors...dont know the exact terminology) and then proceeds with start-up.
When I go to my computer and select F: drive it hesitates and then states the 'drive in F: is not formated, Do I want to format now? Of course I say no.
Is there anything I can do? There is some really important information in that drive.
Thanks for any assistance.
