RPC Server

I am running XP and have lost my printer with the error message "RPC Server is unavailable". I have gone to "service.msc." and nothing seems to be the problem there. I have checked it with my other computer which is working fine.

Also, on the same machine I am getting a "NT On-ACCESS Scanner service" error. The start menu takes 2 minutes to come up when you click it also.

Are all of these problems related? Is the computer somehow think it is a server? Or should I just chuck the thing out the window?

How is the printer connected? Is it connected to the network directly, or connected directly via parallel or USB port and then shared from a PC?
Also, I would run an extensive Adware and Virus check.

If you do decide to chuck the computer out the window, at least get it on video. Destruction is a good ol' American past time!
