Problem - Getting wireless to work on LG through USB

I just purchased a new LG LCD that has wireless capabilities with Netflix...etc. There are USB ports on the back of the tv that allow you to hook up a wireless adapter to connect to your home internet.

I contacted LG and per their tech support you have to use the LG wireless adapter. Per the specs I checked online it is just a basic adapter. I purchased a wireless adapter, to try, and of course no work.

Anyone else come across this and find a way around it?

You have to use the LG adapter because the TV isn't programmed to recognize any other type of wireless adapter.
