I am trying to connect to World of Warcraft from a hotel that offers free wireless internet. i am able to browse the internet, but when i try to log onto the game it hangs at two different points. i have tried:
using dos commands: ipconfig /release > ipconfig /renew > ipconfig /flushdns
i have also tried doing a traceroute, which i will paste in here, i sort of understand it, im hoping someone else can diagnose it better then me :D

here is the data from the traceroute:

Tracing route to us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com [12.129.232.114]

over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 * * * Request timed out.

2 * * * Request timed out.

3 * * * Request timed out.

4 * * * Request timed out.

5 * * * Request timed out.

6 * * * Request timed out.

7 * * * Request timed out.

8 * * * Request timed out.

9 * * * Request timed out.

10 * * * Request timed out.

11 * * * Request timed out.

12 * Transmit error: code 1231.

Trace complete.

the site said that the Request Timed Out thing is somewhat normal, since the server doesnt accept unsolicited connections to prevent attacks.

i dont know what Transmit error: code 1231 is, does anyone know?

Edit: some technical Specs:
Windows Vista
Compaq Presario C500T
1gb Ram
Wireless card (no cable for internet here)

Well, I know for a fact that Vista likes to allow IPv6 by default. Go into your network properties and uncheck this. As for the error, it's a simple "I have no idea what the heck this network is that I'm trying to communicate with is" message....it's pretty vague. That error is the least of your problems though. In fact, a hop count wont really help you very much in trying to solve the problem as it works off of a different port than your WoW connection to the server does.

Try looking around some WoW forums for the connection issues.
