I assume if a manufacturers site says no network support then the printer can not be used on shared network, correct?

Uh Ya, Explain your situation..

But that doesn't mean you can't share the printer, If it is connected By USB or Parralel you can share the printer accross a network, the computer it is connected to would have to be on for it to work. That how it is setup at my House. :)

yeah it can be used on a network because then it is just hosted on a computer , it think that means that it just cant be connected directly to a network by an ethernet cable. my hp printer says no network support on the website but its still shared on my network

MB, How did you do it. My printer is connected to an XP machine and I want to share it with my 98SE machine. Both machines have shares set up and they are both in the same work group. How do I set up my win98 machine from there please?
