teh strange thing about my win 7 is that it refuses to see the hdd i have vista ultimate on. in the dev manager it is there and in bios it is also there. i can boot off of it. but under my computer it does not even show up. i am dual booting win7 and vista ultimate. this is strange.

hmm, not sure what you mean by that but i never really had the chance to assign it a letter. i just find it odd that the thing refuses to see the drive under win7. maybe it is some kind of incompatibility.

you can give it a drive letter in diskmgmt.msc.
A drive needs to be assigned a drive letter so that you can see it in My Computer
