Nintendo 3DS Power Supply

I recently bought an American Nintendo 3DS, I attempted to plug the charger that came with it into an adapter so I could use it here in Hong Kong. When I plugged it in, it was not charging. The US charger uses a 110 base volt system while the Hong Kong one is a 220 base volt system, have I done any lasting damage to my Nintendo 3DS or is it just the matter of buying a plug based in Hong Kong?

Can't tell you for sure, but I would assume it's the plug.
