Yeah. Iron Cross is correct. There "are" companies out there that have paid people working on open-source stuff. Why do they do this? b/c it's stuff the company itself needs. And they put it out as "open-source" to build up their reputation in a sense.
They "use" open-source stuff and they contribute back. Even I worked on a component that my supervisor wanted to release as open-source. Wonder what happened to it....... It was during an internship between academic terms.. Haven't kept it touch with him...
