no, i think it is perfectly legal for him to download another copy, just as long as he hasnt microwaved his serial number as well....

And how in the world would he do that without ADDware/Spyware?/Viruses? I Still have my serial Number with my Adobe Creative Suite CS programs, and (After it was crushed) i still haven't been able to download off the internet yet.

That is quite possibly the best way of killing discs i have ever heard of.

I have a nice jagged wall that I scrape discs across.

I used to snap the disks in half. However getting CD shards in your eyes is not a nice thing.
