Hey all,

My sister is wanting a laptop for her birthday. Now I'm not too sure on laptops when it comes to the graphic units, or the processors either to be honest, because they seem completly different.

We don't want to spend over £400 if possible, and thats probably pushing it, but all she'll mostly be gaming on, is the Sims 2 & 3 when it comes out later this year, plus of course, for work, etc.

Now I know most laptops are dual cores now, so thats not an issue really, but in terms of graphics power, most at the £380 price range run off a:

ATI Radeon 3200

This should be capable of running the Sims 3 when it arrives right?

I'm guessing the Intel graphic chips aren't up to much though.

Also, what brand would you get if you had a choice on laptops?

Were thinking of getting it from here:

What does it mean when it says:

* Onboard: ATI Radeon HD 3200
* Dedicated: ATI Radeon HD 3470 Hybrid graphics 256Mb GDDR2.

It's got 2 graphics chips?

How good is this?:

Sorry about all the questions :p
Thanks guys

Looks like a hybrid that allows you to switch to either graphics chip to either conserve energy or increase performance. The new MacBook Pro notebooks have this feature.

The first one does have two graphics chips:

The Amilo is unique among many of the competition, as it features two graphics cards. In addition to the integrated ATi Radeon 3200 chip, AMD's Hybrid CrossFireX technology allows a dedicated ATi Mobility Radeon HD 3470 GPU to work in tandem, offering a theoretical performance boost over rivals.
Looks like a winner to me. :D

Thanks guys :D Looks like that may be the one then!
The CPU is alright as well I think; AMD Turion ZM-80 2.1GHz, and has 3GB's of memory.

Yep, I think that'll be the one :)
