intel i3-550 CPU

hey guys, just wondered if anybody is running this cpu and how it performs? been looking at computers for a friend and a lot of middle range set ups seem to be running the i3. i checked out the spec and noticed the caching is pretty low? is this effecting performance or not? the PC will be used for gaming (but not extreme gaming) so we plan on running a middle-high range GPU along side this processor.. just after some first hand knowledge with the i3-550!

I know the i5 760

But the i3 should do fine as well. I'm not so keen in the lower end, but look up charts at tomshardware.com on GFX cards and CPU's
