Panasonic Toughbooks are awesome! Too bad they're a bit expensive. IBM/Lenovo notebooks are very nice too. Very business/Road Warrior oriented. 
The US Army uses Toughbooks and I think one soldier even got his life saved by one. An AK-47 round supposedly hit his laptop, penetrating through the LCD screen, but it was stopped by the rest of the notebook, thanks to it's magnesium-alloy casing. The 7.62mm round was probably slowed down by the HUMVEE door, but still impressive nontheless.
