xps 8950 has poorly designed psu with tiny chinese made fans that start squeaking and seizing after a while
The cause is cheap grease that dries out and turns to dust/then grinds down the bushings inside.
Good part. They are cheap to buy on ebay.
Bad part, you have to replace the fans yourself.
neither me or dell recommends diy because psu has very high voltage components that can zap the soul out of you if you dont know what you doing.
i need some advice from pros on what brand of fans to go with for replacements.
I had 750w that i replaced with 1000 watt and now replacing with 1300watt psu
They all have noisy fans but were cheap lol
