AMD compared to Core2duo

ok....then I would need the help of people here to do that. I would need to have a website one to buy the things I would need, and then two I would need a list of things that I should get that would work good together. I am looking for 2 gigs of ram, at least 250 gb hard drive, and a good video card or two. I also would need a monitor and keyboard and mouse with a windows operating system disk.

We'll help you step by step. Trust me, it really isn't hard and you'll get a much better computer for your dollar. The website you can buy off of is www.newegg.com
Thats the most popular one for good reasons.

Yeah, it's really not that hard to build it yourself. Here's a preliminary list of what I think you should get:

Asus P5B-E Motherboard ($150):

If you want SLI: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131142

Core 2 Duo E6600 ($316):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819115003

2 GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800 RAM ($256):

600 Watt OCZ PSU ($120):

Western Digital Caviar 250GB Hard Drive ($70):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144417

For now, get the GeForce 7600GT video card. It'll be good enough for now, and then you can save up for a new DirectX 10 card ($120):

Sceptre 20.1" Monitor ($240):

That totals under $1.3 grand. You can spend the remaining money on a CD/DVD drive, a case, keyboard, mouse, etc.

If you do those rebates you get 145 back so it'd be even 1500. Do the rebates! They put them out there because nobody does them, but they save a lot of money!

Hope that helped give you an idea of what you should get but get some differing opinions first before you buy anything.

Edit: the person's above me is good too and I forgot a CD drive o_O
