40X4 LCD

Hey guys! i'm working on a 40x4 LCD and PIC16F946 microcontroller, using C as the programming language. Can you help me with the initialization instructions 4 the microcontroller and the instructions for displaying on the LCD. i have been working with lower order microcontrollers and smaller LCDs, and these ones are absolutely new to me. PLEASE HELP!

It should be pretty much the same deal. Depending on the LCD model you've got you might have to split your commands into certain lengths, but other than that nothing much will have changed.
