in last 10 years or so it seems alot harder to find useful non commercial information on the internet
in the late 90s early 2000s there was alot of informational pages where i could find anything i need basically
now i keep running into "sponsored" articles that push some kind of agenda or fake...
is there a script or an app i can use to automatically change the monitor game mode?
i use game mode with extra sharpness for gaming but it makes ghosting when used for desktop.
and i have to manually switch between game modes on the monitor every time
which is obviously very annoying..
is...
i noticed alot of stock traders and especially scalpers use gaming laptops for trading.
And since scalping relies on stable wifi and low ping as much as pvp i would assume that wifi cards are better in gaming laptops?
I know the gpu matters also but not as much unless they are streaming
I bought a used 4080 and it didnt come with the 16 pin adapter cable
Its for a dell xps 8950 which has 4 8pin outputs.
Does the 4080 need all 4 or 3 8pin would be sufficient?
And also what brand to get
There are alot of them for sale on ebay but i donr know which one is good quality
what i meant is as i change the actual refesh rate on a monitor my fps is changing as well with same resolution
when i gradually lowered the resolution on my monitor from 160 to 60 and set the in game fps at 160. my fps increased as i lowered the refresh rate..
i found that strange also
yea at certain point it becomes a flex.
I dont think 480hz monitor will make any difference in gaming lol
Upgrading from a 20 dollar costco mouse to the ultralight gaming mouse did help alot with aim though
This whole thing is more for nerding out than anything useful.
My ocd is kicking in and...
xps 8950 has poorly designed psu with tiny chinese made fans that start squeaking and seizing after a while
The cause is cheap grease that dries out and turns to dust/then grinds down the bushings inside.
Good part. They are cheap to buy on ebay.
Bad part, you have to replace the fans...
I was listening to some pro fortnite players and they were mentioning that they use some kind of network optimization apps
And system optimization that basically has all the settings in one program
Thats what i was asking about,
Just realized that the post didnt make much sense, i forgot to...
What tools do pros use to optimize their system and their gear for gaming?
Os optimization
periohreals optimization
Network optimization\etc.
got into playing fortnite few days ago and my inner nerd got activated big time on optimizing the setup lol
Bought a 180 dollar mouse and finally ran my...
i need to replace my basic dell keyboard finally (keys worn out)
Its a 10 dollar keyboard that i have used for like 5 years.
Is there any hidden gems out there that are laptop style keys and good for gaming?
For fps gaming to be specific
so i was testing different resolutions and refresh rates and noticed something odd
i have a 4k 60hz monitor that i used to play
bought an msi QHD 170hz monitor from costco to see if i can get more of those sweet frames per second
turns out my dell is against it
im getting higher fps on higher...
its been years since i actually built a gaming rig so im hella rusty on the details right now i havent read anything yet this is my first reasonably good setup since like 2006. i was building external coolers to squeeze my poor vaio pc to play unreal tournament on lan. now you can just buy...
i was reading in other forums that these dell cards have bad memory thermal pads and when those were upgraded the boost speed increased.
but thats forums .
that the memory temp kicks in throttle on entire gpu
power limit you mean firmware setting or PSU not providing enough juice?
could the memory temp bottleneck the gpu?
It is at 94degrees while the gpu is at 80 during heavy load
And i read on forums that the 3080 gpu can clock up to 2010mhz
And that dell has poorly designed memory heatsink where pads are weak
Im also assuming that if its pulling 320watts from the psu...
