abit mobo question

I'm just curious about a jumper on my new abit board the jumper is a S2K mode select header, I'm not sure what it does it says to set it to default (strapping from boot rom) the other setting is strapping from hardware, if someone has a abit board and knows about this please explain these settings to me it would be greatly appriciated.
