WTF? why can't I dual boot LinuxMCE

every option I see want to delete the whole hdd and existing partitions. I'm running vista 64 and i want to run dual boot. ever since 2000 every Os has the ability to write to separate partitions.

what up with that?

nope. I see that i have to install 64-bit Kubuntu 7.10 first then download the cd versions (instead of dvd) and upgrade withing linux if I want to install on partitions.
