By saving the C:\WINDOWS\SYTEM32\WPA.DBL file and placing it back in save mode (press F8 at boot) after a reinstall, you can (probably) bypass the Windows activation (actually there is no need to, Windows will activate again) This trick only works when the hardware is unchanged.
The same trick is available for Office by saving the file C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Data\data.dat. By copying the data.dat file back to this location, there is probably no need to activate Office again.
