phillips? I understand how things can be different, like they might make better things for the UK market...but in the US, I think their stuff is junk, in terms of longevity.

all the big names are good, basically, else they wouldn't be good

don't overlook any newcomers, as that's how everybody begins

of course, you can always overlook the "house" brands. Those, even if manufactured by the big names, are done at economy.

favourite brand: Samsung... ( A+ brand, quality wise..)
Actually in my home country, I had most of the things' brand name would start from 'S" like cellphone: Sony erricson, T.V- Samsung, etc.
